PITTSBURGH, Pa. --- The Golden Eagle track & field team built off a strong start to the weekend on Saturday, finishing up their two-day stint at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational in Pittsburgh.

The highlight of the day's track events came in the 3000m, with the trio of
Allison Farson,
Abby Sullivan and
Addie LaBombard all placing in the top-eight. Farson led the way with a time of 11:14.84 to place fourth overall, followed by a sixth-place finish for Sullivan (11:17.07) and a seventh-place finish by LaBombard (11:32.06).
Bailey Royhab just missed on hitting the top-10, placing 12
th with a time of 12:07.35..

Elsewhere on the track,
Jenna Uncapher placed 11
th in the 400m, crossing the finish line in a time of 1:02.34.
Leah Perry was just behind in 18
th place, with a time of 1:04.80.
Hannah Redwood had a strong day in the sprints with a pair of top-10 finishes, highlighted by an eighth-place finish in the 200m. Redwood recorded a time of 27.34 to come up just shy of a PSAC-qualifying mark. She also posted a 10
th-place finish in the 100m, hitting a time of 13.34.

Shelly Jones PR'ed in the Discus and improved her own standing on the program's all-time performance list, placing second overall with a mark of 39.42. That topped her previous mark of 39.01m set last season and represented a PSAC qualifying standard. It also moved the senior thrower from fifth on the program's outdoor track & field performance list to fourth, swapping spots with teammates
Emma Pesicka. Pesicka, meanwhile, placed fourth in the event with a mark of 36.84m.

In the jump events,
Delaney Beard led the way for the Golden Eagles with a third-place finish in the Triple Jump. Beard cleared a mark of 10.99m, putting her second among non-Division I athletes in the field of 24.Â
Emily Lodge took 10
th in the event with a mark of 9.81m, and later  placed seventh in the Long Jump with a mark of 4.74m. Uncapher took seventh in the High Jump with a leap of 1.51m, followed closely by Perry in 13
th with a 1.46m.
