CLARION, Pa. --- Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Wendy Snodgrass announced today that Chris Lingle, a Clarion alumnus, has been hired as the departments Events and Facilities Coordinator. Lingle moves in the role previously held by Joe Lopez, who now serves as Associate Athletic Director.
 
"We are excited to welcome Chris back to Clarion and our athletic department," Snodgrass said. "His experience in our department will allow him to integrate quickly into the role, and his talent in providing leadership and direction makes him a strong fit."
 
A 2022 graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management, Lingle was a member of Army ROTC in his time at Clarion and currently serves as a Second Lieutenant in the Army National Guard. As an undergraduate he spent two years instructing peers about teamwork and tactics, and helped to develop underclassmen in the program into effective leaders.
 
Lingle has also spent time working in the field of athletic events and facilities, interning under Lopez during the 2021-22 school year. In particular, he was vital in helping to manage the spate of high school competitions in Tippin Gymnasium that year, including basketball playoffs and wrestling tournaments.
