EDINBORO, Pa. --- In a dominant effort from beginning to end, the Golden Eagle wrestling team won their fifth straight dual, beating Edinboro 43-3 at McComb Field House on Sunday afternoon. Clarion's 43 team points against the Fighting Scots represents their best scoring output against their longtime rivals since defeating them 57-0 on Jan. 24, 1984.
 
Like their efforts a week ago at the Clarion Duals, the Golden Eagles racked up the bonus points on the Fighting Scots. Of their nine match wins on Sunday, eight of them came with bonus points attached. The lone exception came in the 165-pound bout, where Eli Brinsky won his third in a row with a tight 3-2 decision over Max Kirby.
 
The Golden Eagles enjoyed three wins by fall on the day, with the first coming in the 133-pound bout. TJ England had a significant lead on Eamonn Jimenez, holding an 8-1 advantage after getting a reversal to start the third period, and he eventually worked Jimenez to his back for the fall. At 157 pounds, Alejandro Herrera-Rondon won his fifth straight bout, beating Gannon Jaquay just 46 seconds into the second period. Herrera-Rondon started the frame on top and gradually wore Jaquay down, rolling him for the pin. John Meyers scored the last fall of the day, with his coming just seconds before the end of regulation. The junior heavyweight already held a comfortable 7-2 lead, but he continued to add on by taking Nick Lodato down with 17 seconds left in the third. He tossed Lodato straight to his back and got the fall with 11 seconds remaining.
 
Joey Fischer kicked off what turned out to be a pair of technical falls for the Golden Eagles, beating Caleb Edwards 19-1 in the latter half of the second period of the 125-pound bout. Ryan Sullivan improved to 3-0 since entering the dual lineup, beating Jacob Brenneman 24-9 at 141 pounds. Kyle Schickel just missed out on a tech fall with a 17-3 major decision over Colin Roberts, while John Worthing and Cam Pine notched back-to-back majors at 174 and 184 pounds, respectively.
