Box Score PAINESVILLE, Ohio --- The Golden Eagles men's basketball team suffered their first loss of the season to Lake Erie, falling by a score of 107-76. After a competitive first half, the Storm started quickly in the second half to pull away and finished with 60 points in the second half. Turnovers were a major factor, as Clarion committed 21, which led to 28 points off those turnovers.

Justice Easter played a well-rounded game for the Golden Eagles, scoring 18 points, adding five rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Four other Clarion players scored in double figures, with
Cam Kearney and
Josiah Dow each finishing with 11 points each.

The story of the first half saw Lake Erie build a small lead, with Clarion responding but never able to capture the lead. The Storm took a 17-13 advantage with 13 minutes left in the half after Cameron Johnson finished a layup.
Kendon Peebles followed with a three-pointer to cut the lead back down to one. Peebles was a spark off the bench for the Golden Eagles, scoring ten points in the game.

Traden Gray helped cut the Clarion deficit to five with just over five minutes remaining in the first half. Easter then followed with a layup and a free throw, reducing the deficit to 35-33. The Storm weathered the flurry of Clarion's offensive pushes and created some separation at the end of the half with a pair of three-pointers, giving them a 47-39 lead going into halftime.

Lake Erie came out strong in the second half, going on a quick 22-7 scoring run that forced the Golden Eagles to call a timeout. The Storm was scorching hot from behind the arc during the run, hitting four three-pointers and shooting 8-for-12 from the field.

Second-chance points and points off turnovers fueled Lake Erie's huge second half, as they scored 60 points. They built a lead as large as 36 points, securing ten offensive rebounds and scoring 23 second-chance points. Additionally, Lake Erie forced 11 Clarion turnovers and capitalized with 28 points off those turnovers.
