Snider Named Unanimous All-America Selection

CLARION, Pa. --- Cassidy Snider was declared a unanimous All-American selection for the second straight season on Wednesday, as the senior outside hitter was named a Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) First Team All-American and an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Second Team All-American. It is the second straight year that Snider won both of those honors, matching her postseason awards haul in 2023.

The two-time PSAC West Athlete of the Year (2023-24), Snider leads all of NCAA Division II in kills per set entering this weekend's NCAA Championship with an average of 5.46 kills. She is second in total kills with 606, and her average of 5.97 points per set ranks third in the country. Capable of producing big numbers in any match against any opponent, Snider has had some of the best single match attacking totals in the nation this year. In the NCAA Atlantic Region quarterfinal, she had the most productive match of her career, recording an astounding 37 kills against West Virginia State while hitting .388. That ranks as the second-highest single-match kills total in Division II in 2024, behind a 38-kill effort from Diana Akopova of Barry.

Snider has three of the top seven highest kills outputs in four-set matches this year, with 31 kills against California (PA) on Oct. 25, 29 kills against IUP on Oct. 18 and another 28 kills against the Vulcans on Sept. 24. She was named the AVCA Division II Player of the Week on Oct. 1, the second time in her career she earned that honor.

Snider's average of 5.46 kills per set would currently rank sixth for a single season in the 25-point rally scoring era. Her 606 total kills would rank 10th.

One of the most productive Division II volleyball players of her generation, Snider is the active kills leader in NCAA Division II with 2,059 career kills entering this weekend's NCAA Championship. She ranks sixth in total kills among all players that played their entire careers in the 25-point rally scoring era, from 2008 to the present. Snider enters the weekend ranked sixth among all NCAA divisions in total kills for a career, and fourth in terms of kills per set. Last year she finished the season with a program record 601 kills, the 14th-best single-season total in NCAA Division II in the 25-point rally scoring era before this year.

With Wednesday's honors, Snider concludes her collegiate volleyball career as the most decorated player in program history. Her AVCA Second Team All-America and D2CCA First Team All-America honors are both the highest honors bestowed to any Clarion players from those governing bodies, and Snider also earned AVCA All-America Honorable Mention honors in 2021-22. She is a four-time First Team All-PSAC West selection and was the 2021 PSAC West Freshman of the Year. In 2023 she also earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Second Team honors.
