SHEPHERDSTOWN,W.Va. --- The Golden Eagles women's basketball team finished their PSAC crossover weekend with a split, as Clarion controlled the second half in a 90-73 road win over Shepherd on Saturday afternoon. They outscored the Rams 54-39 in the second half, shooting 20-of-31 (.645) from the field in the final 20 minutes to improve to 8-2 overall and 3-1 in the PSAC.

Clarion held just a two-point lead at the halftime break after leading by as many as 10 points in the second quarter.
Zoe Guice made a three-pointer at the 8:11 mark of the second to cap a 7-2 run and
Autumn Taylor pushed the lead into double-digits two possessions later. It was still a three-possession lead for the Golden Eagles with under five minutes to play after
Hannah Wilkerson took a pass from
Arianna Seitz and knocked down a three-pointer, giving Clarion a 33-26 advantage. The Rams outscored Clarion the rest of the way in that period, cutting the deficit to 36-34 before the break.

Shepherd scored five of the first eight points in the third quarter to briefly take a 39-38 lead, and the Rams led as late as the 1:32 mark of the third quarter after Lamaria Estridge's bucket gave them a 56-54 lead. Taylor and
DayLynn Thornton put the Golden Eagles back ahead 58-56 with two free throws on back-to-back possessions, and Taylor made a pair of layups in the final 30 seconds of the half to give the Golden Eagles a 62-56 edge.

As it turned out the Rams never seriously threatened to go back in front again. Thornton and Guice made shots just 15 seconds apart in the fourth quarter to make it 66-56 and the Rams never got closer than nine points the rest of the way. Seitz scored to make it 74-63 and
Siara Conley pushed the advantage to a baker's dozen at the 4:49 mark, scoring in the paint out of a timeout. Taylor made it 88-67 with under two minutes to play in regulation and Clarion coasted down the stretch.

As has been the case in most of the Golden Eagles' wins this season, the scoring was balanced throughout the lineup. Taylor led the way with 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting, while Conley and Wilkerson each chipped in 16 points. Conley also had a team-high six rebounds on her stat line, while Wilkerson had four boards and four steals. Seitz scored 13 points. Shepherd-rebounded the Golden Eagles 48-36 with 21 offensive boards, but Clarion outscored the Rams on turnovers by a 34-18 margin.
