GREENSBURG, Pa. --- The Golden Eagle women's basketball team led by as many as 11 points on the road on Saturday afternoon, but a big run by Seton Hill allowed the Griffins to get the better of Clarion by an 82-72 score.

For the entirety of the first half and into the second, Clarion was in control of the contest, amassing an impressive lead after the halftime break. The Golden Eagles outscored the Griffins 21-15 in the first quarter to initially take the advantage, starting with a 7-0 run immediately after play tipped off.
Autumn Taylor accounted for the first five of those points, knocking down a midrange jumper at 8:58 and making a three-pointer after a Joi Burleigh turnover. Seton Hill cut the lead to 10-9 before Clarion responded with a 9-1 run that included makes from
Siara Conley and
DayLynn Thornton, and was punctuated with a close-range jumper from
Hannah Wilkerson to make it 19-10.

Abby Gatesman put her team ahead by double-digits early in the second quarter, making a jumper to set the score at 25-15, and
Heather Ansell later made it 28-17 with a three-pointer from the left wing. The Griffins went on a 9-0 run to cut the lead to two points but Clarion maintained their momentum, taking a 41-35 lead into the half after a jumper from
Autumn Taylor. Wilkerson stretched that lead to 45-35 early in the third quarter, scoring buckets on back-to-back possessions to start the half, and Gatesman drained a trey at the 8:28 mark to run the Golden Eagles' advantage to 48-37.

The Griffins responded with a huge run, outscoring Clarion 20-1 over the next six minutes to take a 57-49 lead with 2:30 left in the third quarter. The Golden Eagles rallied later in the quarter, with Wilkerson finishing off an and-one at the end of the period to make it 59-57 heading into the final frame. She scored again early in the fourth quarter to cut it to 61-59, but Seton Hill went on a 16-2 run to extend their own advantage into double-digits.

Taylor made a three-pointer down the stretch with 38 seconds remaining, bringing Seton Hill's lead to 80-72. She and Wilkerson tied for the team-high with 18 points, with Taylor recording seven rebounds, three assists and three steals. Wilkerson had six rebounds and three steals, and Gatesman scored 10 points. Conley finished with a team-high 11 rebounds to go with her eight points.
