Men's Golf in 5th After First Day at Edwin Cottrell

WEST CHESTER, Pa. --- The Golden Eagle men's golf team enjoyed a solid day to open the Edwin Cottrell Invitational on Monday afternoon, earning a spot in fifth place in the field after 18 holes at Penn Oaks Golf Club. Clarion shot a team score of 304 on Monday.
 
Due to incoming inclement weather, tomorrow's action will be shortened to just nine holes, making this a 27-hole tournament.
 
Will Meyer tied for 13th in the field by carding a round of 74, putting him just one stroke off the top-10 in the field. Meyer carded four total birdies for the round, including back-to-back birdies on par-5 No. 4 and par-four No. 5. In fact Meyer birdied every par-five on the course.
 
Brennan Karalfa was just one stroke behind Meyer, tying for 19th in the field with a score of 75. He added three birdies of his own, including a pair on par-4s, Nos. 8 and 15. Ryan Robinson was third on the team and tied for 23rd overall, shooting a 77 that included a birdie on par-4 No. 17.
 
Hayden Siegel rounded out the scoring for the Golden Eagles, shooting a 78 after making birdie on two of the first four holes. Chase Smith shot an 83, including a birdie on No. 12.
