ERIE, Pa. --- The Golden Eagle women's golf team shaved off nine strokes from their opening round at the Gannon Spring Invitational on Sunday afternoon, finishing the tournament in seventh place. Clarion shot a team score of 364 on Sunday, giving them a two-day total of 737 (373+364) at Whispering Woods Golf Club.

The biggest improvement from the first round to the next came from
Hannah Smith, who eliminated nine strokes herself to shoot a team-best 88 in the second round. The highlight of her day came on the par-five seventh hole, where she carded her sole birdie of the day. Smith tied for 33
rd overall in the field with a two-day score of 185 (97+88).

Sylvia Stibley moved into the top spot on her team on Sunday, shooting a 92 to finish with a two-day score of 183 (91+92). That put her in sole possession of 31
st in the field. Stibley carded a pair of birdies on Sunday, including a three on the par-four ninth hole and a four on the par-five 12
th hole.
McKayla Kerle shot a 98 on Sunday for a two-day score of 197 (89+98), while the pair of
Samantha Huth and
Hailee Liptak both shot 92 in their second rounds.
