LOCK HAVEN, Pa. --- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) announced their 2024 softball all-conference teams on Tuesday. Clarion's
Rachel Helsley was named a Second Team All-PSAC West outfielder after a torrid run down the stretch elevated one of the best seasons of her college career.
Â
Helsley exploded in her final season in the Blue & Gold, setting career-highs across the board and posting one of the best offensive seasons in program history. The senior outfielder set new standards with a slash line of .349/.408/.603, giving her a team-best OPS of 1.011. Her slugging percentage of .603 ranks fifth for a single season in program history.
Â
Catching fire in the middle of conference play, Helsley finished with team-highs in home runs (7), RBIs (36), doubles (9) and total bases (76). With the exception of her doubles total, the other numbers all rank among the best in Golden Eagle history; the seven home runs is tied for second in a single season, while the RBIs and total bases stand alone in second place in their respective categories.
Â
Helsley was dynamite in PSAC West action, slashing .407/.473/.790 for an OPS of 1.263. That ranked third overall in the PSAC behind only IUP's Delaney Patella and Pitt-Johnstown's Kayla Miehl. Her .790 slugging percentage in-conference trailed only Patella, and her 64 total bases in PSAC West play was 15
th overall and 11
th in the West.
