Track & Field Wraps First Day at PSAC Outdoors

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. --- The Golden Eagle track & field team kicked off the first of three days at the 2024 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships on Friday, taking the track at Seth Grove Stadium for a handful of events.

Leah Perry found herself in 12th place overall in the Heptathlon after one day of competition, with the junior multi recording one PR in the first four events. After taking sixth in the field in the 100H with a time of 15.63, she set a new career-best in the High Jump, clearing the bar at a height of 1.58m. That mark was just a shade better than the 1.57m leap she cleared at the Susquehanna River Hawk Multi earlier this year, and ranked eighth in the Heptathlon field.

Perry finished off her day in the Shot Put and the 200m. She threw the implement a distance of 8.06m in the former, and completed the sprint in a time of 28.53. Action will resume tomorrow with the final three events of the Heptathlon: the Javelin, the Long Jump and the 800m.

Elsewhere in the field, Madison Foringer made her PSAC Championships debut on Friday. The sophomore thrower took 16th place in the Hammer Throw, recording a mark of 39.82m on her final throw of the preliminary round.
