Women's Golf Represented on CSC Academic All-District

CLARION, Pa. --- The College Sports Communicators announced their 2023-24 Women's At-Large Academic All-District honorees on Tuesday. Three Golden Eagles women's golfers – Samantha Huth, Hailee Liptak and Sylvia Stibley – earned a spot on the prestigious list.

To qualify for Academic All-District honors, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore both athletically and academically, must maintain at least a 3.50 grade point average, and must have competed in at least 70 percent of team scoring events during the season.

Liptak (3.97 – Finance) saved one of her best performances for the biggest moment of the season, putting together a strong three days at the 2024 PSAC Championships in April. She finished just outside the top half of the leaderboard after climbing four spots on the last day with a score of 86, capping a three-day run at Iron Valley.

Huth (3.81 – Nursing) concluded her Clarion career having been part of some of the best rounds in program history. She took 18th at the Clarion Fall Invitational in October with a two-day score of 179, as the Golden Eagles combined for a 343 in the last round.

Stibley (3.99 – Secondary Education-Mathematics) made Clarion history and earned herself a spot in elite company in the PSAC record books when she won the PSAC Champion Scholar award for women's golf for the third consecutive time. She is one of only four women to win the award three times, joining Gannon's Lydia Lukomski, Slippery Rock's Kara Styles and California (PA)'s Abigail Freund.
