Men's Golf Finishes First Round at Sunnehana C.C.

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. --- The Golden Eagles men's golf team started action at the Pitt-Johnstown Sunnehana Collegiate on Monday, playing through a steady drizzle to shoot a team score of 325. Clarion will play their second round at Sunnehana Country Club on Tuesday.
 
Devon Lauer and Chase Smith both shot scores of 78 on Monday, leading the way for the Golden Eagles. Smith made birdie on two different holes on the back nine, shooting a four on the par-five 11th hole and a two on the par-three 16th hole. Lauer also made birdie on the 11th hole, as did Teagan Gray, who finished his round with an 88.
 
Hayden Siegel was the other golfer that factored into the scoring for the Golden Eagles, carding a score of 81. He birdied the par-four 1st hole en route to a 39 on the front nine, the second-best score on the front nine behind Lauer's 38.
