EDINBORO, Pa. --- The Golden Eagles women's basketball team held a slim lead in the second half against Edinboro on Friday night, but Clarion could not keep up the pace as the Fighting Scots took a 67-48 decision at McComb Fieldhouse.

For 25 minutes it was a back-and-forth battle between the Golden Eagles and the Fighting Scots, with Clarion keeping up through the first half and beyond. Though Edinboro led for the entire first half the margin never grew beyond two possessions as Clarion battled to stay in the game. Neither side got much going on offense in the first half, though the Fighting Scots were slightly better from the field with a 12-of-29 (.414) performance.

A run in the third quarter gave the Golden Eagles the lead, with Clarion outscoring the Fighting Scots 11-4 over the course of the first five minutes of the second half.
Arianna Seitz sparked it with a three-pointer and then followed with a driving layup at the 7:05 mark, tying the score at 29. She set up
Zoe Guice for a bucket that put the Golden Eagles ahead, with the latter draining a three-pointer to make it a 32-31 advantage.
Malayziah Etheredge added another trey from beyond the head of the key with 4:59 to go in the period, making it 35-31, and Guice scored in the paint less than a minute later to keep Clarion up 37-36.

Edinboro retook the lead with under four minutes to go in the third quarter, going up on a layup by Ava Haddad, and Rachel Manfredo scored on the next trip down the floor to make it a three-point game. The Fighting Scots ultimately embarked on a 10-0 run to increase the lead to three possessions, and it eventually ran to double-digits at the 8:42 mark of the fourth quarter on a bucket by Morgan Gentile.

The Golden Eagles kept the game close near the five-minute mark, with Guice making a three-pointer at the 4:43 mark to cut the Fighting Scots' lead to 55-46. Edinboro caught fire down the stretch, outscoring Clarion 12-2 in the final 4:43 to clinch the win.

Seitz led Clarion in scoring with 12 points, while Guice and Etheredge each notched 10 points apiece.
Madison Palek led the team in rebounding with seven boards.
