CLINTON, Pa. -- Competing in their final tune-up before the 2025 PSAC Championships, the Golden Eagles cross country team traveled to Carnegie Mellon on Saturday and took ninth in a stacked field at the CMU Invitational. Clarion's harriers boasted PRs up and down the lineup on the 5K course.
Sophomore
Abigail Butera was the top finisher for the Golden Eagles, crossing the line at a personal best time of 18:01.50 to take 15th in the 5K race. Freshman
Raechel Braun was just two spots behind her, finishing 17th overall running with a personal best time of 18:05.50. That tight pack near the top of the heap helped the Golden Eagles crack the top-10 in the 19-team field.Â
Emmy Davis folowed as the team's third finisher, placing 59th overall and crossing the line with a personal best 19:01.70.
Chesnee Williams finished fourth on the team, finishing with a personal best time of 20:05.70, while filling out the top five for the Golden Eagles was
Cheyenne Zeedyk with a personal best time of 20:26.70. Rounding out the scoring for the Golden Eagles were
Zoey Thomas, who crossed the line at a personal best time of 20:39.70, and
Caleigh Aigler, who ran a time of 21:29.90.
The Golden Eagles will compete at the conference championship on Saturday, October 25 in Edinboro.
