LOCK HAVEN, Pa. --- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced their weekly volleyball award winners on Monday. Clarion's Julia Rodriguez was named the PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Week for Oct. 20.
 
Rodriguez was strong at the net over a pair of matches last week, leading the Golden Eagles with an average of 1.63 blocks per set in a win over Pitt-Johnstown and a loss at IUP. In the win over the Mountain Cats Rodriguez totaled five blocks, and in the second match of the weekend recorded eight blocks against the Crimson Hawks.
 
Clarion has been one of the best blocking teams in the conference this season, with an average of 2.27 blocks per set. That ranks second in the PSAC West and third overall in the conference.
