Butera Earns All-PSAC Honors, Golden Eagles Take 10th

EDINBORO, Pa. -- The Golden Eagles cross country team traveled to Edinboro on Saturday for the PSAC Cross Country Championship, placing 10th overall in a stacked field. The event marked Clarion's first top-10 finish since the 2022 championship.
 
Sophomore Abigail Butera led the way for the Golden Eagles, crossing the line in 23:28.9 and placing 22nd overall. That locked up All-PSAC honors for the sophomore, making her Clarion's first all-conference finisher since Mackenzie Carver in 2023. Butera averaged a 6:17.7 min/mile pace, one of the fastest overall in the competition.
 
The next best finisher for the Golden Eagles was Emmy Davis, who just missed all-conference honors with a 42nd overall finish and a time of 24:03.1. Freshman Raechel Braun followed as the team's third finisher, crossing the line at 24:11.6.
 
Jessica Shelderfer finished fourth on the team, running a time of 25:13.3, and rounding out the top five for the Golden Eagles was Chesnee Williams with a time of 26:02.3. Rounding out the scoring for the Golden Eagles were freshman Cheyenne Zeedyk and Zoey Thomas, finishing with times of 26:49.8 and 27:05.0 respectively.
