CLARION, Pa. --- The Golden Eagles men's swimming & diving team earned a thrilling win in a home dual on Friday night, with Clarion topping PSAC rival Bloomsburg 129-112 at Tippin Natatorium.

The night began with a resounding win for the Golden Eagles in the first relay of the meet, with the Golden Eagles winning the 400 Medley Relay by a span of nearly 10 seconds.

Gavin Guckavan,
Dominic Cortopassi and
Mason Peck touched the wall in a time of 3:26.07, coming in ahead of the top quartet for the Huskies and their time of 3:35.33.

Connor Hoy kept things rolling with a win in the 1000 Free, pacing the field with a time of 10:11.04. Guckavan pulled off another win in an individual event, beating the rest of the field in the 50 Free with a time of 21.44 That put him 11 hundredths of a second ahead of the Huskies' Ian Hamilton.

Rider and Cortopassi also added to their wins totals with individual victories on Friday night. The freshman Rider continued his own impressive start to the year with a win in the 200 Back, finishing in 1:54.18 to beat Bloomsburg's Tommy Houck, who touched the wall in 1:59.24. Cortopassi, meanwhile, was the winner in the 200 Breast with a time of 2:08.76.

On the boards, the Golden Eagles divers provided a crucial boost to the final score, with
Zach Schering winning on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards. The senior led the way in the 1-meter with a score of 296.10, followed by
Zakary Kennedy's 293.85. On the 3-meter board, Schering posted a mark of 346.88 while Kennedy had a 304.35.
