Women's Swimming & Diving Downs Huskies in PSAC Dual

CLARION, Pa. --- The Golden Eagle women's swimming & diving team posted a resounding dual meet victory over Bloomsburg on Friday night, with Clarion beating the Huskies by a 147-95 margin at Tippin Natatorium.
 
Clarion held a significant edge over Bloomsburg for most of the evening, with the Golden Eagles winning both relays contested on Friday night and the lion's share of individual events as well. The 400 Medley Relay quartet of Zoey Beck, Erika Zimmerman, Gina DiNapoli and Madelynn McTeer started the night by touching the wall in 4:00.81, putting them six-tenths of a second ahead of the Huskies' top foursome, and the 400 Free Relay team of Amanda Fetsko, McTeer, Raely Fajohn and Zimmerman closed the night with a 3:33.78.
 
The Golden Eagles took the top two spots in the 200 Free, with Joslyn Jurski and McTeer coming in 1-2 in the sprint event. Jurski finished in a time of 1:56.74 while McTeer edged out Bloomsburg's Morgan Holmes with a time of 1:59.41. Ellie Knausz followed up with a win in the 400 IM; the freshman continued the strong start to her career with a time of 4:40.44, putting her ahead of the Huskies' Grace McBlain.
                                                                                                                                         
Jurski and Knausz tacked on two more individual wins for Clarion, helping to seal up the win over the Huskies. Jurski won the 500 Free by a significant margin, finishing in 5:18.22 that was 14 seconds ahead of the closest competitor from Bloomsburg. Knausz, conversely, won a tight race in the 200 Breast, finishing in a time of 2:29.81.
 
Contributing to Clarion's victory were the diving events, with Colleen Hudson and Katie Madigan leading their teams on both boards. Hudson won the 1-meter board with a score of 277.20, while Luna Castellanos took second with a score of 276.60. Madigan was the winner on the 3-meter board with a score of 272.78, with Hudson coming in just behind her at 271.13.
