MORGANTOWN, W.Va. --- The divers of the Golden Eagles women's swimming & diving team kicked off three days of competition at West Virginia on Thursday, with three placewinners on the first day of the Mountaineer Diving Invitational.

Competing in a field loaded with Division I competition, the Golden Eagle women shined in taking the top two spots in the 3-meter Dive on Thursday night.
Colleen Hudson won the event with a score of 292.55, just barely edging out teammate
Luna Castellanos and her score of 292.10.

Hudson's best two dives of the finals featured identical scores of 53.20. The first came on her third dive, when she successfully executed a Back 2 ½ Somersault Tuck, and the second immediately followed on a Reverse 2 ½ Somersault Tuck.  Castellanos' scores improved as the finals went on, including a score of 56.70 on her fifth dive, an Inward 2 ½ Somersault Tuck.

Rounding out the finalists for the Golden Eagles on Thursday was
Katie Madigan. The Senior placed seventh with a score of 254.50.
Taelyn Thomas took fourth in the consolation final with a score of 242.20.
