Gavin Guckavan reached the A final of the 50 Free and placed eighth in a loaded field, as the Golden Eagles men's swimming & diving team finished their second day at the Zippy Invite hosted by Akron.

Guckavan provided the highest individual finish of the night for Clarion, racing in the A Final of the 50 Free. Guckavan touched the wall in 20.67 seconds to take eighth place overall, though he just missed out on an NCAA B cut in the morning prelim with a time of 20.46.T

The Golden Eagles showed depth in the sprint events, with four other swimmers scoring in the finals of the 50 Free. In the C Final,
Jacob Rider (21.19),
Mason Peck (21.34),
Ryan Ehlers (21.56), and
Stewart Messer (21.69) finished 20th through 23rd, respectively.

In the 400 Medley Relay, the squad of Rider, Guckavan,
Dominic Cortopassi, and Peck secured a seventh-place finish with a time of 3:17.42. Irwin led the way in the 200 IM, taking11th place overall with a time of 1:53.63.
Rich Scholer also scored in the event, placing 14th with a time of 1:54.46.

In the 500 Free,
Connor Hoy represented the Golden Eagles in the B Final, placing 15th with a time of 4:40.80. The C Final saw a quartet of Clarion swimmers add to the team total:
George Horey (20th, 4:49.36),
Kevin Santos (21st, 4:50.99), Frankie Dimartini (22nd, 4:53.15), and
Logan Curtis (24th, 4:57.46).
