AKRON, Ohio --- The Golden Eagles women's swimming & diving team kicked off their midseason meet with a pair of strong performances on Thursday, competing in a pair of relays at the Zippy Invite hosted by Akron.

Clarion kicked off their four-day meet in the Rubber City with the 200 Medley Relay, with the foursome of
Zoey Beck,
Erika Zimmerman,
Gina DiNapoli and
Madelynn McTeer competing. That quartet took 16
th in the loaded field with a time of 1:46.62, just a handful of seconds off the pace for an NCAA B cut and just three seconds away from a school record.

After a short break, the 800 Free Relay team of
Amanda Fetsko, McTeer,
Elli Knausz and
Joslyn Jurski took the pool, placing 10
th in the field with a time of 7:34.42. That was less than 10 seconds away from a B cut and just three seconds off a school record pace as well, with the mark of 7:31.10 being set back in 2011.

Action will continue for the next three days at Ocasek Natatorium, with prelims starting at 10 a.m.
