YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Clarion indoor track and field team commenced their 2025-26 campaign on Friday, competing at the YSU Icebreaker hosted at the Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS). The Golden Eagles were led by top-10 finishes from
Abby Stitzer on the track and
Madison Foringer in the field events, with Foringer breaking her own school record in the Weight Throw.
Foringer delivered a strong performance in the Weight Throw, topping her school record set just last year at the PSAC Indoor Championships. Her toss of 14.75m earned her a seventh-place finish in the field and passed her previous career best mark of 14.70m. It also stood as a PSAC qualifying mark.
Stitzer, meanwhile, highlighted the day on the track for Clarion, securing a fourth-place finish in the 800m. Stitzer crossed the line with a time of 2:23.28, giving her a PSAC qualifying time in the event. She was joined in the event by freshman
Cheyenne Zeedyk, who placed 13th with a time of 2:27.79, and freshman
Brooke Rumbaugh, who finished 18th at 2:33.82.
In the distance events, sophomore
Abigail Butera cracked the top 10 in the 3000m. She finished ninth overall with a time of 10:45.91. Freshman
Raechel Braun represented Clarion in the Women's 5000m, placing 17th with a time of 18:58.90.
In the jumps, Brooke Scuillo and
Delaney Yost led the way in the Triple Jump. Scuillo finished 20th with a leap of 10.03m, while Yost followed closely in 21st at 9.74m.
In the sprints, senior
Hannah Redwood competed in the Women's 60m qualifying round, posting a time of 8.35. In the 200 Meter Dash, freshman
Autumn Stoken recorded a time of 29.23.
Clarion fielded two squads in the Women's 4x400 Meter Relay. The "A" team of
Caleigh Aigler,
Breonna Buck,
Abigail Butera, and Stitzer finished 15th with a time of 4:27.01.
