YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio --- The Golden Eagles track & field team wrapped up their second day of competition at the YSU Mid Major Invitational on Saturday, with a pair of top-three finishes – one on the track and one in the field.
In terms of placement, the top finisher of the day was
Maddison Ho, who took second place in the Shot Put. She recorded the best mark of her career as well as the best to date for the Golden Eagles, tossing the implement a distance of 11.51m. That was good enough for second in the field, behind only West Liberty's Sierra Davis (11.83m).
Elsewhere in the field,
Delaney Yost followed up her performance on Friday with a PR in the Triple Jump. She cleared a mark of 9.74m, an improvement of 0.11m from her previous mark in December and good for 20
th in the field.
Emily Foster took 13
th in the High Jump, clearing the bar at a height of 1.44m.
The top finisher on the track was
Abby Stitzer, who improved upon her own season-best time in the 800m with a third-place finish. Stitzer crossed the finish line in a time of 2:21.04, an improvement of nearly two full seconds over her previous PR set on the same track in December.
Ariana Dandu was the top finisher in the Mile with a time of 6:09.25.
In the sprint events,
Raegan Stader was the top finisher for the Golden Eagles in both the 60m and the 200m. She crossed the line in a time of 8.37 in the former and 28.30 in the latter.
Ciara DiMauro took 24
th in the 400m, crossing the line in 1:05.57.
