Perry, Foringer Highlight Day 1 at PSAC Indoors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Leah Perry improved on her own top-five all-time score in the Pentathlon while Madison Foringer smashed her own program record in the Weight Throw, as the field events highlighted the first day of action for the Golden Eagles at the 2025 PSAC Indoor Track & Field Championships.

Foringer came just one place shy of placing in the Weight Throw, but there was still plenty to celebrate for the junior thrower. She cleared her own program record by a wide margin in the event.  Foringer earned a spot in the finals with a toss of 14.70m, better than her previous program record of 14.43m set last season at the YSU Mid Major. Foringer came up just one spot shy of reaching the podium, placing ninth.

After coming up just short of scoring in the Pentathlon in the first three years of her career, Perry authored the best Pentathlon performance of her career as a senior, improving on her PR and finishing eighth in the conference field. She started the day with what may have been her most impressive result, running a 9.31 in the 60H to improve her standing in the program's all-time performance list. Perry's previous best of 9.46 ranked fifth all-time, but she was able to leapfrog Jessica Vitous and Tatiana Cloud for third on the list.

Perry followed that up by taking third in the field in the High Jump. She cleared the bar at a height of 1.54m, her best mark of the season and her best-ever indoors. Perry set a new PR in the Shot Put, tossing the implement 8.97m, and closed out with a Long Jump of 4.78m and an 800m run of 2:44.90.

With a total score of 2992 points, Perry set a new personal best in the Pentathlon, and improved her own fifth-place score on the program's all-time performance list.

Also competing for the Golden Eagles on Saturday was Abigail Butera, who took 16th in the 5000m. The freshman crossed the finish line in a time of 19:08.36.
