Box Score CLARION, Pa. --- The Golden Eagles tennis team returned to action for the spring on Sunday afternoon, falling to Seton Hill by a 6-1 score at Campbell Courts. Clarion played a handful of tight singles matches against the Griffins but ultimately came up just short in the first PSAC West dual of the spring.
 
Winning in her Clarion singles debut was Emily McMahan. She defeated Seton Hill's Alycia Derr in No. 5 singles, winning a pair of tight sets for a 6-4, 6-4 decision.
 
The singles session also saw two other very close matches, with Davan Lion and Taelyn Thomas coming close to claiming singles wins of their own. Lion took the second set from Carissa Shepard at No. 1 singles to force a decisive third set, but Shepard outlasted her 10-2 in the tiebreaker for the win. Thomas, meanwhile, won the first set against Jaime Kallet at No. 6 singles, but dropped a 6-0 set to her in the second and lost in the tiebreaker.
 
The Griffins won all three doubles matches contested to take the extra point. The closest match of the session was the No. 2 match, where Polia Vladeva and Josie Beckerleg held tight with Alexandra Wolf and Kaylee Kanuka but lost by a 6-3 score.
