WASHINGTON, Pa. --- The Golden Eagles men's golf team competed in the two-day Vulcan Fire Classic hosted by California (PA), taking 10
th in the field at Lone Pine C.C.

Day 1 Recap: After 18 holes of action Clarion sat in ninth on the team leaderboard with a combined score of 351.
Devon Lauer led the way with a team-best score of 86, including a 41 on the back nine that was tied for the second-best nine-hole stretch for the Golden Eagles on the day.
Brennan Karalfa and
JP Tusai both carded rounds of 88. Tusai had one of two birdies on the day for the Golden Eagles, shooting a three on the par four fourth hole.
Brady Houser rounded out the scoring with an 89, checking in just one stroke behind Karalfa and Tusai.

Hayden Siegel competed individually, authoring the best round of the day for the Golden Eagles. He shot an 84 in the first round that saw him consistently making par throughout.

Day 2 Recap: Siegel, competing individually, continued his impressive two-round event with an improvement on Day 2, finishing as the Golden Eagles' top finisher by tying for 24
th. He made birdie on three of the six holes on the front nine for a low score of 79, giving him a two-day total of 163.

Collectively the Golden Eagles shaved 14 strokes off their team score in the second round, carding a team score of 337. Karalfa had perhaps the best individual highlight of the day, carding an eagle on the par five 13
th hole. Tusai made birdie on the first hole of the day and finished with the low round for the scoring team, shooting an 82 and finishing 43
rd in the field.

Karalfa had the second-lowest round for the day, shooting an 84 and finishing his tournament with a 172 (88+84). Lauer finished one stroke ahead of him overall with a 171 (86+85), including a birdie on the same par five that Karalfa made eagle on earlier in the round.
Brady Houser rounded out the scoring with an 86 in the second round, a three-stroke improvement on the first round.
