PITTSBURGH, Pa. --- The Golden Eagles track & field team kicked off the outdoor season on Friday afternoon with the first day of the Carnegie Mellon Invitational, with more action set to follow on Saturday.

Madison Foringer improved upon her own school record in the Hammer Throw, placing sixth in the field with a mark of 44.06m. Coming on her fifth of six attempts, it represented a jump of nearly a full meter from her previous best.

Maddison Ho hit a PSAC qualifying mark in the Shot Put, taking 10
th in the field. After coming up just 0.03m shy in her first attempt, she cleared the conference mark with a put of 11.96m on her final attempt, breaking the standard of 11.90m.
Savannah Taosoga made her Clarion track & field debut after two years with the volleyball program, taking 18
th with a 10.82m.

Also hitting a PSAC qualifying time was
Abigail Butera, who hit the mark in the 1500m. She crossed the finish line in a time of 4:53.75, just beating the 4:55.00 standard for the conference meet.

Elsewhere in the running events,
Paige Brewer took 18
th in the 3000m Steeplechase. She crossed the finish line in a time of 13:20.46.
