CLARION, Pa. --- The Golden Eagle football team wrapped up their 2025 spring practice schedule with their annual Blue / White scrimmage, with the offense and defense both providing fireworks over the course of the session.
Â
Early in the day it was the defense making the most of the action, with
Deuce Lyons forcing a fumble and
David Adams-Prince returning an interception for a touchdown. Later,
Davin Griffin picked off a pass to mark the third turnover of the day forced by the defense.
Â
The offense got their shots in as well, though, with quarterbacks
Anthony Guercio and
Zach Switzer using their arms and legs to make plays. Receivers
Holt Egan,
Griffin LaRue and
Zack Slomers all pulled down a handful of touchdown passes, while
Logan Kent,
Khalon Simmons and both quarterbacks made plays as well.
Â
At the conclusion of the scrimmage, head coach
Raymond Monica handed out awards to the team's Most Improved offensive and defensive players. Egan was named the team's Most Improved offensive player, while
Luke Shaffer was selected the team's Most Improved defensive player.
