Men's Golf Concludes Season at Atlantic/East Preview

ERIE, Pa. --- The Golden Eagles men's golf team wrapped up the 2024-25 season on Tuesday by climbing up the leaderboard at the NCAA Atlantic/East Region Preview, finishing in 20th place at Whispering Woods Golf Course in Erie.
 
Clarion shot a team score of 319 on Tuesday, representing a seven-stroke improvement from the first round. The Golden Eagles finished with a two-day score of 645.
 
Devon Lauer climbed 33 spots on the leaderboard to take 66th in the field, recording a team-best score of 76 on Tuesday that represented a six-stroke improvement on his Monday performance of 82. Lauer started and ended his day with a birdie, carding threes on his first hole, the 17th, and on his last hole, the 16th. In the middle Lauer made birdie two other times, on the par three second hole and the par four fifth hole.
 
Brady Houser made a big leap of his own on the leaderboard, improving by 13 spots with the second-best round score for the Golden Eagles, He shot a 79 on Tuesday, making birdies on the par four fifth and eighth holes. That put him in 92nd in the field with a two-round score of 163 (84-79).
 
Brennan Karalfa ended up second on the team for the tournament and third for the day, once again shooting 80 for a two-round score of 160 (80-80). He logged one birdie on the day, making a three on the par four 10th hole.
 
Rounding out the scoring for Clarion on Tuesday was Chase Smith, who shot an 84 for a two-day score of 169 (85-54). Hayden Siegel was fifth on the team on Tuesday with a score of 88, including a birdie on his first hole the 17th. Teagan Gray shot an 80 while competing independently.
