Stitzer, Pettinato Make Podium at PSAC Outdoors

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. --- Abby Stitzer and Autumn Pettinato found themselves on the podium as well as higher in the all-time performance lists of their respective events, highlighting the final day of the 2025 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Slippery Rock.

Pettinato closed out her collegiate career with an outstanding effort in the Javelin, hitting an NCAA provisional mark with her best-ever throw in the Blue & Gold. She started the event with three straight PRs in as many attempts, capping that trio with a mark of 42.98m that won the first heat of the event and ranked second heading into the finals. It was the first NCAA provisional mark hit by any Golden Eagle since Shelly Jones hit one in the indoor Shot Put in 2023.

When all was said and done that mark ranked fifth in the field on Saturday, putting Pettinato on the podium.

That throw also pushed Pettinato onto the all-time performance list at Clarion. With a mark of 42.98m she pushed Jessica Crouch off the list for fifth place overall and was just a touch short of Carrie Bullman's fourth place mark of 43.66m.

Stitzer, meanwhile, recorded the best finish of the weekend for the Golden Eagles, placing second in the 800m to earn All-PSAC honors. The freshman followed up her PR performance in Friday's prelims with an even better encore, crossing the line in a time of 2:15.51. Making the final turn Stitzer put pressure on eventual champion Nicole Carroll, nearly pulling even down the stretch.

Stitzer's time of 2:15.51 supplanted her own time on the program's all-time performance list set just one day before. She now ranks behind only Molly Smathers (2:12.0) and Mackenzie Carver (2:13.7) on the 800m list.

The Golden Eagles' day also included performances in the Shot Put, the 1500m and the 4x400m Relay. In the first, Maddison Ho took 14th with a mark of 11.65m, while Abigail Butera placed 14th in the 1500m with a PR of 4:53.73. The 4x400m Relay team of Stitzer, Butera, Caleigh Aigler and Ciara DiMauro took 13th with a time of 4:10.63.
