SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. --- The Golden Eagles track & field team kicked off their three-day residence at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium on Thursday afternoon, as action commenced at the 2025 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Two Golden Eagles competed on the opening day of the conference championships, with senior
Leah Perry starting the action in the final conference meet of her collegiate career. The senior multi found herself in 12th place after the first four events of the Heptathlon, with 2,382 points accumulated. Her best finish came in the first leg of the event, with Perry finishing seventh in the field in the 100m Hurdles with a time of 15.47.
She followed up by clearing a max height of 1.48m in the High Jump, which ranked 10th in the field. Perry rounded things out with a mark of 8.61m in the Shot Put and a time of 28.88 in the 200m.
The other Golden Eagle to compete on Thursday was
Madison Foringer, who reached the finals of the Hammer Throw but came up just one spot short of placement. The junior launched her best throw of the event on her first attempt, flinging the implement 45.95m that ranked ninth in the field through three attempts. That earned her a spot in the finals, but Foringer came up just a hair short of reaching the podium.
Action will continue at Slippery Rock on Friday morning.
