LOCK HAVEN, Pa. --- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced their 2025 women's soccer preseason coaches' poll on Tuesday. Clarion was predicted to finish eighth in the PSAC West division.
Â
The Golden Eagles welcome back eight of 11 players who started more than half of last year's games, though only six of their top ten leaders in minutes played return to the fold this season. Among them are
Ciara DiMauro and
Marisa Colondrillo, who ranked second and third on the team in scoring in 2024 respectively.
Â
Also back in action on the offense will be
Alyssa Aquilio, who was limited to two games last year but contributed the game-winning goal against Ursuline.
Leah Deal and
Evelyn Cook will also contribute to the offensive attack.
Â
Defensively the Golden Eagles will look to seniors
Reese Aquilio and
Hailey Dobb to provide veteran leadership on the back line. Dobb led the Golden Eagles with 1,366 minutes played last year, generating six shots on goal, while Aquilio started 14 games and also cleared 1,100 minutes played. Junior goalkeeper
Sage Sherk is also back, having made 11 starts in net last year.
Â
The Golden Eagles' season kicks off on Thursday, September 4 at Ursuline. The home opener comes just two days later when Clarion welcomes Malone to Memorial Stadium, and conference play commences a week later at Pitt-Johnstown.
