Tusai's Score Highlights UC Invitational Second Day

CHARLESTON, W.Va. --- The Golden Eagles men's golf team wrapped up their first tournament of the season on Tuesday, tying for 17th at the UC Invitational at Berry Hills Country Club. Clarion posted a team score of 309 in the final round, finalizing a three-round result of 926 (316-301-309).
 
JP Tusai was the top finisher for the Golden Eagles for the tournament as well as the final round, posting a spectacular score on Tuesday. He recorded the sixth-best round in the field of 124, carding a round of 69. After bogeying his second hole, Tusai was virtually flawless, making birdie on the par-four No. 16 and the par-four No. 6. He came in at even par for the back nine and one under for the front nine for a score of 69, giving him a three-round total of 223 (82-72-69). With that performance he climbed up 31 spots on the leaderboard, placing 41st overall.
 
Kameron Kerle was second on the team for the round as well as the tournament, shooting a 78 on Tuesday for a score of 231 (79-74-78). He sprinkled three birdies into his round, including on No. 4 and No. 6. Brady Houser had the third-best round of the day for Clarion, shooting an 80, including a birdie on No. 1. Preston Stoner rounded out the Tuesday scoring for the Golden Eagles with an 82. Tanner Miller, competing individually, shot an 81, while Devon Lauer carded an 86.
