Men's Divers Sweep Top Spots at Hrovat Invitational

CLARION, Pa. --- The divers of the Golden Eagles men's swimming & diving team returned to home action with the Dave Hrovat Diving Invitational on Friday, dominating the field on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards.
 
The Golden Eagles swept the top four spots on the 1-meter board, with Zach Schering leading the way for the team. Schering posted a score of 482.35, just narrowly beating teammate Zakary Kennedy's second place score of 479.35. Schering's best dive of the day came in his fifth attempt, a Forward 3 ½ Somersault Tuck that netted 66.0 points. Kennedy's best dive came on his third, a 61.50 on a Reverse 2 ½ Somersault Tuck.
 
Ethan Coronado placed third in 1-meter with a score of 422.95, including a score of 57.35 on an Inward 2 ½ Somersault Tuck on his sixth attempt. Michael Flamm rounded things out with a 395.05 to take fourth place.
 
Clarion boasted the top three spots on the 3-meter board, with Schering again posting the best finish. His best dive of the came on the first attempt, when he posted a score of 58.50 on an Inward 2 ½ Somersault Pike. Flamm took second in the second event of the night, posting a score of 456.25 to come up just shy of Schering's total. His best mark came on a Back 2 ½ Somersault Tuck, good for 57.40 points. Kennedy rounded out the trio with a score of 439.90.
