Men's Golf's First Day at PSAC Championship Shortened by Darkness

LEBANON, Pa. --- Darkness halted the Golden Eagle men's golf team before they and two other teams could complete the opening round of the 2026 PSAC Men's Golf Championship, with two Clarion athletes still needing to complete the remainder of their round at Iron Valley Golf Club.

Due to incomplete team scores, no accurate team standings are yet available for the tournament.

Tee times were delayed at the beginning of the day due to a fog delay, and that interruption led to two Golden Eagles – Brady Houser and Henry Bortmes – still having a handful of holes to complete. They and the rest of their playing groups will tee off at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, before the rest of the field starts Round 2 at 10 a.m.

Kameron Kerle was the top finisher to get through his round, and the sophomore did it with style, placing 11th overall in the field after the first round. Kerle made birdie on each of the first holes of the day and on five of the first six, giving him a score of 35 on the front nine that was one under par. He shot a 38 on the back nine, making his sixth birdie of the round on the par four No. 11 hole.

Also completing rounds were Devon Lauer and Jase Renwick. Lauer carded an 84 over 18 holes, marking birdie on the par four No. 1 and the par 3 No. 12, while Renwick shot an 85.
