Men's Swimming & Diving Wraps Second Day at PSACs

YORK, Pa. --- The Golden Eagles men's swimming & diving team turned in another slate of strong performances on Thursday, wrapping up the first half of action at the 2026 PSAC Swimming Championships at the Graham Aquatic Center.

Through two days, Clarion sits in fourth place with a score of 209.

Gavin Guckavan earned All-PSAC status for the first time at the meet with an outstanding effort in the 100 Fly, taking second overall with a time of 48.65. In the morning prelim he narrowly edged out Gannon's Jakub Loboda for the fastest time in the event with a 48.51, and he very nearly matched that time in the final with a 48.65 that put him in second place.

Mason Peck, Joey Margita and Henry Miller all competed in the B final of the event, with Peck taking second in that heat and 10th overall with a time of 50.10. Margita was 13th overall with a time of 50.99 while Miller took 16th with a 51.12.

Also earning an impressive second place finish with Dominic Cortopassi, who cut nearly a second off from his morning prelim time to take silver in the 200 Free. After swimming a 1:40.33 in the morning, Cortopassi shaved his time down to 1:39.04 in the evening to put him behind only West Chester's Marti Rosell Diez (1:37.97). That represented an NCAA B cut for Cortopassi in the event.

Jacob Rider also made the A final in the 200 Free, taking sixth with a time of 1:41.21. Dylan Chaky made the B final, placing 15th overall with a time of 1:44.33.

Rounding out the all-conference performers on Thursday was the 400 Medley Relay team, which placed third overall. Rider, Guckavan, Cortopassi and Peck finished in a time of 3:18.74, putting them within a second of first place West Chester.

In the 400 IM, Connor Hoy continued his strong initial conference championship effort with a 12th place finish. The freshman took fourth in the B final with a time of 4:09.32, knocking almost a full second off his morning prelim time.

The 200 Free Relay team of Miller, Ryan Ehlers, RJ Schaffer and Stewart Messer kicked off the night with a sixth place finish, touching the wall in a time of 1:25.30.
