Four Divers Reach Podium in Men's 1-Meter Dive

EVANSVILLE, Ind. --- The divers of the Golden Eagles men's swimming & diving team swept their way in the finals of the Men's 1-Meter Dive on Wednesday, with the quartet of Clarion athletes making the podium and earning All-American status on the board at the 2026 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships.
 
Zak Kennedy was the high finisher for the Golden Eagles, taking fourth with a score of 521.35. The sophomore's best dive was his first of the session, when he delivered an excellent Inward 2 ½ Somersault Tuck for a score of 65.10. He topped 60 points again later in the session on a Forward 3 ½ Somersault Tuck.
 
Second on the team and fifth overall was Michael Flamm, with the junior topping the 60-point mark on three of his six dives for a total of 511.50. Four of his six dives had degrees of difficulty over 3.0, including his final dive of the session, an Inward 2 ½ Somersault Tuck he landed for 63.55 points.
 
Ethan Coronado took sixth place with a score of 486.15, but he tied national champion Max Wasiniak for the highest score on any single dive of the finals. Coronado put up 66.00 points on a Reverse 2 ½ Somersault Tuck, garnering a pair of 8.0s from judges and no scores lower than 6.5.
 
Rounding out the Clarion foursome was Zach Schering, who recorded a score of 475.35. Schering carried a high degree of difficulty throughout his list, with all six of his dives at 2.9 or higher. He continued to push toward the top of the board midway through the round, especially after scoring 63.00 points on a Reverse 1 ½ Somersault 2 ½ Twist Free.
