PITTSBURGH, Pa. --- The Golden Eagles track & field team completed their first day at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational on Friday, with members of the distance team taking the track at Gesling Stadium.

In the 5000m,
Abigail Butera recorded one of the best outdoor performances in program history on Friday, taking 12
th in the field of more than 50 runners. Butera crossed the finish line in a time of 17:55.32, which now ranks third on the program's all-time performance list behind just Erin Richard (16:41.4) and Melissa Terwilliger (17:46.4).
Raechel Braun came up just shy of a PSAC qualifying mark with a time of 18:52.33 and placed 24
th.

Abby Stitzer was the top finisher for the Golden Eagles in the 1500m. The sophomore crossed the line in a time of 5:02.19, good for 24
th overall.
Emmy Davis was just four seconds behind her, finishing in 5:06.28.
