Men's Golf Finishes First Day at Spadafora Invitational

INDIANA, Pa. --- The Golden Eagles men's golf team kicked off action at the Cecil Spadafora Invitational hosted by IUP on Tuesday, with Clarion checking in at 12th in the team standings after 18 holes at Indiana Country Club. Clarion posted a team score of 324 on Tuesday.
 
Devon Lauer logged the best score of the day for the Golden Eagles, shooting a 78 that put him in 43rd place in the overall field. Lauer recorded a pair of birdies, coming in at one-under on the par five No. 18 and on the par three No. 7 holes. One stroke behind him was Kameron Kerle, who made back-to-back birdies on No. 18 and the par five No. 1 hole en route to his score of 79.
 
Preston Stoner checked in at third on the team with a score of 83, while Brady Houser rounded out the scoring with an 84. He was the only Golden Eagle to birdie No. 14, a par four. Jacob Danka competed as an individual and shot an 80, including his own birdie on No. 7, while Tanner Miller filled out the team entry with a score of 89.
 
Action will conclude tomorrow at Indiana Country Club.
