Golden Eagles Compete at Paul Kaiser Classic

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa.  – The Clarion women's track and field team continued its spring campaign this weekend at the 2026 Paul Kaiser Track and Field Classic, hosted by Shippensburg. Highlighted by standout performances in the distance and jumping events, the Golden Eagles showcased depth and competitive grit as they prepare for the upcoming PSAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
 
Abigail Butera provided the performance of the day for Clarion on the track. Competing in a deep field in the 1500m, Butera surged to a second-place finish with a PR of 4:46.77. Her performance was a model of consistency, clocking a strong 1:14.81 final lap to secure her spot near the top of the pack. After getting close to cracking the program's top-five on the all-time performance list, Butera jumped Lisa Nickel (4:47.5 – 2009) for fifth place.
 
Joining Butera with a podium-worthy performance was freshman Raechel Braun in the 5000m. Braun dominated her splits throughout the race, eventually crossing the line in second place with a time of 18:43.12. Braun maintained a steady pace of approximately 1:30 per lap before unleashing a 1:22.10 final lap to distance herself from the third-place finisher by five seconds
 
In the field events, Emily Foster led the way in the High Jump. Foster cleared 1.50m to secure a fourth-place finish. She cleared the height on her first attempt. Delaney Yost also represented Clarion well in the jumps, placing sixth in the Triple Jump with a mark of 9.98m. Yost added a ninth-place finish in the Long Jump with a leap of 4.93 meters.
 
Elsewhere in the field, Madison Foringer took 13th in Friday's Hammer Throw with a mark of 40.66m. Zoey Grunthaner matched that placement in the Javelin, throwing the implement 26.73m for a 13th place finish.
 
In the 3000m Steeplechase, Paige Brewer earned a sixth-place finish, navigating the barriers in a time of 13:09.50.
 
On the sprint side, Raegan Stader and Hannah Redwood competed in both the 100m and 200m dashes. In the 100m prelims, Redwood (13.64) and Stader (13.65) finished within one-hundredth of a second of each other. They carried that momentum into the 200m event, where Redwood posted a 27.66 and Stader finished in 28.08.
