LOCK HAVEN, Pa. --- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced their weekly volleyball award winners on Monday. For the second week in a row and third time this season Clarion's Cara Vandeborne earned PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Week honors.
 
Vandeborne was once again dominant on defense, contributing to two Golden Eagles wins and making history in the process. The freshman averaged 2.63 blocks per set, totaling 21 blocks in matches against Slippery Rock (W 3-0) and Findlay (W 3-2). After putting up six total blocks in a three-set win over The Rock, Vandeborne tied a program record with 13 blocks in the five-set win over the Oilers.
 
Through four weeks of action, Vandeborne leads the PSAC with an average of 1.49 blocks per set. Should she maintain this pace she would approach the program record of 1.50 blocks per set, achieved by Karen Stoklosa in 2004. She is already at 76.0 total blocks for the season.
