Men's Golf Takes Sixth at Grove City Invite

GROVE CITY, Pa. --- The Golden Eagle men's golf team showed well in the large field at the Grove City College Fall Invitational on Monday, with Clarion taking sixth place out of 18 teams at Grove City Country Club. The team posted a score of 313 on a misty, cool day with intermittent rain throughout.

Devon Lauer and Jase Renwick tied for the team lead as well as 10th overall in the field with identical scores of 77. Lauer didn't log any birdies on Monday but he also avoided putting up big numbers, logging 13 pars and never going over bogey once. Renwick, meanwhile, recorded two birdies, one on the par five No. 7 hole and another on the par four No. 2 hole, the latter his penultimate hole of the round.

Henry Bortmes was third on the team with a score of 79, taking 28th in the field. He birdied his very first hole of the day, making one on the par three No. 3 hole, and added another on No. 7. Brady Houser was one stroke behind him at 80, including birdies on No. 15 and No. 18, while Kameron Kerle rounded out the team entry with an 83. Tanner Miller posted a 91.
