BELLE VERNON, Pa. --- The Golden Eagles men's golf team found themselves in 11th place after the first day of the Vulcan Invitational on Thursday, posting a cumulative score of 476 through one complete and one partial round.
 
Action was suspended midway through the second round of action due to inclement weather, with play scheduled to conclude on Friday. Most Golden Eagles completed between nine and 10 holes of the second round.
 
The best finisher of the day for the Golden Eagles was Kameron Kerle, who tied for 26^th in the field with a score of 118 (74+44). The sophomore was consistent throughout his first round of the day, going just two over par for 18 holes; he made birdie on the par five No. 4 and the par three No. 11, helping to balance out just four bogeys. He had added another birdie in his second round before play concluded.
 
Brady Houser and Jase Renwick both tied for 43^rd in the field with scores of 120. Houser got there with a 77 in the first round that included one birdie and just four total holes over par, while Renwick made birdie on No. 5 of the first round as part of a 76. Devon Lauer had the individual hole highlight of the day for Clarion, making eagle on the par five No. 4 hole to conclude his round and set his total at 78. He opened the second round with a birdie on No. 5.
 
Ethan Crooks rounded out the team entry with a score of 127, including an 82 in the first round.
