Women's Golf Takes 8th at Weather-Shortened Vulcan Invitational

BELLE VERNON, Pa. — The Clarion women's golf team tackled weather-shortened second-round action at the Vulcan Invitational, concluding play at Cedarbrook Golf Course with an eighth place finish. The Golden Eagles posted a team score of 341 in the second round, giving them a two-round final score of 680 (339-341).
 
The second round originally started on Thursday afternoon but was halted due to weather. The scheduled third round of the tournament was canceled, with teams concluding their second rounds on Friday.
 
McKayla Kerle led the Golden Eagles' effort, finishing in 14th place overall with a two-round score of 158 (77-81). She made birdie on No. 8 to highlight her second round. Hannah Smith was second on the team tying for 28th place overall with a two-round score of 168 (81-87).
 
Rylie Quaiser posted back-to-back birides on Nos. 12 and 13, finishing with a round of 84 on Friday. That gave her a two-round score of 174 (90-84) and put her in a tie for 40th place. Amber Roth shot an 89 in the second round for a two-round score of 180 (91-89), while Ashlee Albright rounded out the team effort with a 96 on Friday.
