Clarion Athletics

2019-20: Enjoyed his best season to date in the Blue & Gold... went 11-9 on the season... recorded a 6-3 mark in duals and a 3-2 record in MAC duals... posted a key decision over Buffalo's Jordan Reyes to help the Golden Eagles to a criteria victory (1/17)... followed that up with a 6-5 decision over Bloomsburg's Christian Gannone (1/19)... majored Kent State's Wyatt Maturin in the team's home finale (2/14).

2018-19 Redshirted... had an overall record of 3-10... Defeated Cleveland State's Michael Santillo at the Ohio Intercollegiate Open for his first win of the season. 

2017-18: Had an overall record of 2-4... earned a dual win over Davidson's Zamier Ode.  

2016-17: Finished with a 14-14 overall record... earned first career win at the Clarion Open over Lock Haven's Josiah Kline... made his dual match debut against Davidson, pinning Camden Bertucci 36 seconds into the bout... won decisions over Appalachian State's Logan Durham and West Liberty's Zach Brown.

High School: 2016 Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA) state champion… took third in the MPSSAA Championships as a junior in 2015… three-time state qualifier… finished with 155 career wins, the second-most in school history... 2016 SMAC and regional champion... two-time Eastern National champion (2015-16)... 2016 La Plata Male Athlete of the Year... 2016 Charles County Winter Athlete of the Year... two-time member of the Maryland National Team… two-time Maryland State Wrestling Association All-Academic team… member of National Honor Society and National Art Honor Society... part of 2016 boys' golf team that won a regional championship... National Technical Honors Society.

Personal: Special Education major with a minor in Psychology... Honors Program graduate, the first wrestler in Clarion history to do so... son of Chris and Kristen Butler... has a brother, Owen... father Chris was a collegiate swimmer at UMBC.
