Alan Cumo will begin his eighth year as a volunteer assistant coach with the Golden Eagles in 2021.  The Ellwood City native will assist with the defensive line.

Cumo attended California (Pa.) and played football for one year as an offensive guard. His career was cut short due to a career ending injury.

After graduating in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education, Cumo coached the defensive and offensive line from 1979-88 in the Beaver Area School District under the direction of legendary head coach Pat Tarquinio. 

He then coached in the Seneca Valley School District for Terry Henry (1989-96) and Rick Shepas (1997-1998) as a defensive line coach and defensive coordinator.   After earning a Master’s Degree in Education Administration from Carlow College, he was promoted to a principal’s position in 1999. While principal, he worked as a defensive line coach for Don Holl (2010-2012).  Cumo retired from education after the 2013 school year.
