Chad Rea begins his second season a volunteer assistant men’s basketball coach for Clarion in 2015-16.
Rea came to Clarion from Penn St.-Beaver where he served as the assistant men’s basketball coach under Golden Eagle head coach Marcess William for six seasons helping the Lions go 129-50 during that time with six consecutive 20-win seasons, three PSUAC Titles and six PSUAC West championships. At Penn St.-Beaver, he was the recruiting coordinator and was also responsible for player development, scouting report, game preparation and game management. Rea helped recruit and develop six 1,000-point career scorers, four All-Americans and 10 All-Conference players.
Currently employed as full-time teacher for the Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School, Rea teaches African-American History and Civics in grades 9 through 12 and designed and developed the African-American History course for the Charter school.
Rea also serves as the Board President for the non-profit organization “The Common Ground Project”, an organization that hosts an annual Civil Right’s Bus Tour.
A native of New Brighton, Pa., Rea is a 1997 graduate of New Brighton High School where he was a teammate of Williams. He graduated from Slippery Rock University in December 2003 with a a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education (history focus).
