Mike McCready enters his sixth year as an assistant at Clarion in 2024-25, serving as the top lieutenant for head coach Damian Pitts for the last eight years, both at Clarion and at Centenary.
McCready came to Clarion with years of experience as an assistant coach, including two years on the bench next to Pitts at Centenary. From 2017-19 he assisted in recruiting, practice coordination, film study, advance scouting and game-planning for the Cyclones. He was also in charge of monitoring the team’s academic progress.

Before joining Pitts at Centenary, McCready held a number of various coaching positions. From 2016-17 he was the basketball video coordinator for Lehigh, where he was responsible for all aspects of film breakdown and analysis including practices, games and recruit film. In 2015-16 he served as an assistant coach at USciences in Philadelphia and in 2015 was a volunteer assistant at Kutztown. McCready also spent two years as a volunteer assistant at Freedom High School, and in 2014 was a basketball operations intern for the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets.

McCready earned a Bachelor of Science in Leisure and Sport Studies from Kutztown in 2014, and was also a member of the men’s basketball team. He transferred to Kutztown in 2012 and played there before suffering a career-ending injury in the fall of 2013.
