Biography

2024-25
  • Competed at the Zippy Invitational, earned 35 team points with his best finish being sixth in the 200 IM (1:49:54).
  • Finished first in the 200 Free (57.31) and the 200 Breast in the PennWest Duals (1:42.02).\
  • Scored 59 team points at the PSAC Championships, placing first in the 100 Fly (47.92) and 2nd in the 100 Breast (55.21).
2023-24 
  • Scored 45 points at the PSAC Championships, placing third in the 200 Free and the 200 IM with times of 1:40.08 and 1:49.12
  • Finished first in the 100 Breast with a personal best 58.41 and the 200 Breast touching the wall in 2:14.36 at the PennWest Duals
  • 31 team points at the Zippy Invitational with a tenth place finish in the 200 IM and 13th place finish in the 100 Fly 
  • Helped the Golden Eagles defeat Bloomsburg with 14 team points and a first place finish in the 200 IM 
  • Named PSAC Men's Swimmer of the week for Dec. 12 after helping the Golden Eagles beat IUP in a dual meet with wins in the 200 IM, 100 Back, and was the first leg of the 200 free relay. 
2022-23
  • Part of the program's 800 Free Relay championship at the 2023 PSAC Championships, helping the team to a 6:42.92 finish (2/15)
  • Reached the PSAC finals of the 200 Free (1:41.15) and the 200 IM (1:51.21), placing fifth in both events and hitting an NCAA B cut in the latter.
  • Made his Clarion debut at the Fall Classic Invite, winning three events - the 100 Back, the 200 Back and the 200 IM (10/15)
  • Won the 200 Free at the PennWest Tri Meet with a time fo 1:46.70 (1/21)
  • Named PSAC Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week for Nov. 1 after helping the team beat Allegheny in a dual meet with wins in the 200 Free and the 100 Back (10/30)

High School: Set a number of school and pool records at Bethel Park over his high school career... owns the program's records in the 100 Fly, the 100 Back and the 200 IM... also owns the Bethel Park High School pool record in the 200 IM.

Personal: Full name is Dominic Laurie Cortopassi... Nursing major... son of Renee Laurie and Bob Cortopassi... has a brother, Gregory Lang, and a sister, Ginger Cummings.
